Incorporated in 2016, California Desert Arts Council (CDAC) is a single member LLC focused on identifying the Coachella Valley’s creative economy education and training needs by administering grants from the Fred & Kay Wolff Endowment for arts education.
Support for education has been in the DNA of our Foundation from the beginning. With over $1.5 million awarded in scholarships and grants to Coachella Valley students, CDAC continued its commitment to foster the creative careers of local students by establishing the Fred & Kay Wolff Endowment for arts education. Grants from the Fred & Kay Wolff Endowment will continue to shape and strengthen traditional and technical education in creative pathways to support career readiness necessary for Coachella Valley industries.
Digital Arts & Media Certification
Grants from the Fred & Kay Wolff Endowment funded the research and development for College of the Desert’s Digital Arts and Media Certificate Program. This collaboration with the school’s Partnership and Community Education (PaCE) office provides workforce and professional development and high-skills training necessary across industries in the modern digital economy. The grant also sponsored full scholarships for the certificate program’s cohorts to date.
In addition to scholarships for the program, PaCE and CDAC also convened an Industry Advisory Council. Several members of that Council agreed to offer guaranteed job interviews to participants who complete their certification.
If you are a business who would like to have quality candidates to interview for your open positions or if you are an individual who would like to monetarily support this important initiative, please contact Veronica Izurieta, Director, Partnership and Community Education, College of the Desert at 760-862-1367, or by email at veizurieta@collegeofthedesert.edu.
