Welcome to the California Desert Arts Council blog. Thanks for clicking!

We hope you’ll bookmark the blog and explore the other offerings on the CDAC website, a bright new place to access local arts and culture events and experiences, as well as valuable resources and opportunities.

“It’s easy to use and loaded with useful information,” Christi Salamone, CEO of CDAC, says of the website. CDAC was founded last year to unify, empower, and promote the arts in the Coachella Valley region. Like the organization itself, the website is “designed to meet the needs of producers and consumers of art and culture.”

The website reflects CDAC’s four pillars — cultural tourism, business and professional development, education, and advocacy. Features include:

  • Art and culture calendar and visitor itineraries
  • Links to opportunities for creative professionals
  • Access to training, technical assistance, and networking
  • Information about career pathway and scholarship programs

“Right on the homepage we invite visitors to ‘Plan Your Experience,’ offering timely itineraries for art, architecture and design, and music and stage,” Salamone says. “Partnering with the Greater Palm Springs CVB, we want CDAC to serve as the region’s cultural concierge.”

The homepage gives equal space to opportunities for creative professionals, including jobs in the arts, calls for artists, and artist residencies.

The blog serves up a regular feed of news, ideas, and resources to inspire and inform. “We’ll share all of the blog postings to our social media channels,” Salamone says, adding that CDAC posts daily to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and also offers a free e-newsletter.
