California Desert Arts Council has introduced Arts Tank Greater Palm Springs to provide a platform for new, unique, innovative, and publicly accessible arts-based initiatives to find funding and support. Applicants are invited to submit proposals for review by a panel of judges, who will select finalists to pitch their ideas at a live event.

The judges will look for place-based initiatives delivered in the Coachella Valley that stimulate cultural tourism, address a concern of a particular community, and engage a broad cross-section of residents and visitors. They will also consider the qualifications of the applicant and the projected impacts and outcomes of the proposed initiative.

Initiatives can be a project, event, product, installation, or idea that is new, grounded in the arts, and has a strategic purpose. CDAC welcomes high-quality pitches from all artistic disciplines, both from individuals and groups of creative people, as well as from arts and culture organizations.

Who is eligible?

  • Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) arts and culture organizations.
  • Individual artists, or groups of artists, of any discipline, who have a nonprofit fiscal sponsor or a track record of delivering similar projects.
  • Government and public agencies are not eligible.
